Free Google Sheet · not a signup wall

Your sales spreadsheet is probably hiding money. — this free Google Sheet shows you where.

A messy sales sheet quietly loses dollars — duplicate invoices, revenue filed under the wrong category, totals that broke three edits ago, blank dates. This template’s Data Health tab surfaces those issues and adds them back up, so you can see what a real cleanup would recover. Free, yours to copy. Built by a real person, not a signup wall.

What it is / who it’s for

A sales dashboard that flags the money your spreadsheet is losing

Most sales spreadsheets grow into a mess — the same invoice pasted twice, a big deal filed under the wrong product, a total that quietly broke when someone inserted a row, dates left blank so whole sales drop out of the quarter. The numbers look fine, so nobody checks. This template is a list and a dashboard: paste your sales rows and the Data Health tab flags the duplicates, the miscategorized revenue, and the blank dates, then shows you the dollars that were hiding in plain sight.

It’s a real Google Sheet. You make a copy, you own it, it’s free.

No trial, no card, no “book a demo to unlock.” Who it’s for:

  • Owners and operators who suspect their sales numbers don’t quite add up but can’t point to where.
  • Sales and revenue leads tracking deals, invoices, or reps in a sheet that’s been copied and edited one too many times.
  • Anyone closing the books who wants to catch double-counted or mis-filed revenue before it lands in a report.

The honest part: this is the lite version. It shows you what a cleanup would find on sample data, and gives you the checks to run on your own. If you want your real sales file actually deduped, recategorized, and rebuilt into a live dashboard, that’s the paid build.

What’s inside

What’s inside the sheet

Three tabs, ready to use, with sample sales rows already filled in (April–June 2026) — including a few deliberately messy ones — so you can watch the Data Health checks catch them before you touch your own data:

  • Sales — one row per sale or invoice: date, customer, product, rep, amount, invoice #. The starter categories cover a typical small business — rename them to match how you sell.
  • Dashboard — the rollup: KPI tiles for Revenue, Top Product, and Recovered-by-cleanup, a Revenue by Month table with a trend chart, and a top-products/reps breakdown, all on SUMIF/SUMIFS formulas that recalculate the moment you add a row.
  • Data Health — the money-finder: automatic checks that flag duplicate invoice numbers, revenue that doesn’t match its category, blank or out-of-range dates, and totals that don’t tie out — then tallies the dollars affected.

The checks it runs for you:

  • Duplicate detection — flags repeated invoice numbers so the same sale isn’t counted twice.
  • Miscategorized revenue — surfaces rows where the amount lands in the wrong bucket, so real revenue stops hiding under the wrong label.
  • Blank & broken dates — catches sales with no date (or a typo date) that quietly fall out of your monthly and quarterly totals.
  • Totals that tie out — cross-checks the sum of the rows against the dashboard, so a broken formula can’t silently understate the quarter.

Header row is frozen, amount columns are currency-formatted, and the Data Health flags update live as you paste in your own rows — open it and it just works.

The paid version

Want your real sales data cleaned and rebuilt? That’s the $650 build.

This is the lite version — it shows you the checks and finds the money on sample data. It’s genuinely useful for spot-checking your own sheet. But if your real sales file is thousands of rows, years of edits, and revenue you don’t fully trust, running those checks by hand gets old fast.

The paid version does it for you, under NDA:

  • Cleaned and deduped — I take your real sales data, remove the duplicate invoices, fix the miscategorized revenue and broken dates, and repair the totals, so what you report is what actually happened.
  • Rebuilt into a self-updating dashboard — your revenue by month, top products and reps, and a live Data Health tab that keeps flagging issues as new sales come in — built on your real fields, not flat defaults.
  • An AI weekly sales summary — a plain-English Monday note: what you sold, what changed vs. last week, and anything that looks off.

And you don’t buy it blind — I build a working demo on your real sales data first, free, in about a day. See what it recovers, then decide. NDA available on request.

Questions people ask

Sales spreadsheet cleanup in Google Sheets, answered

How do you find revenue that’s been miscategorized?
The Data Health tab cross-checks each sale’s amount and label against the pattern of the rest of your data and flags the rows that don’t fit — a big deal filed under the wrong product, a refund booked as revenue, a line typed into the wrong column. On the free template you review the flags yourself; on a paid cleanup, I go through your real file row by row, confirm each one with you, and move the revenue where it belongs so your reports finally tie out.
Is my sales data safe? Can we sign an NDA?
Yes. The free template is just a Google Sheet you copy into your own Drive — I never see your numbers. If you hire me for a real cleanup, your file is never shared or reused and is deleted after the work, and an NDA is available on request — just ask before you send it. You’re working with one person in Gainesville, FL, not a platform or a team.
What if my sales sheet is thousands of rows?
That’s exactly where a cleanup pays for itself — the bigger and older the file, the more duplicate invoices and mis-filed revenue tend to hide in it. The free template is fine for spot-checking, but for large files the $650 build is the right move: I clean the whole thing at once, rebuild the dashboard, and hand you a version you can trust. You see it working on your real data in a free 1-day demo first.
Do you just build a dashboard, or actually clean the data?
Both — and the cleaning comes first. A dashboard built on messy data just shows you wrong numbers faster. So I dedupe the invoices, fix the categories and dates, and repair the totals, then build the self-updating dashboard and Data Health checks on top of the cleaned file. The free template gives you the checks; the paid build does the cleaning and the dashboard for you.
Is the template really free?
Yes. It’s a Google Sheets template — you make your own copy and it’s yours to keep and edit, no cost, no card, no trial clock. The paid product is a separate service ($650) where I clean your real sales data and rebuild it into a live dashboard; this lite one is free, permanently.
